National Personal Training Institute

A 500-hour, 6-month diploma program in personal training that goes well beyond an exam-pass certification. The program is hands-on, licensed through the Department of Education, and taught by experienced health and fitness professionals. Students train at a gym while enrolled and both learn from and practice on others. Graduates are eligible for a 500 Hour Diploma Certification in Personal Training, an optional NASM-CPT/ACD certification, and a nutritionist certification included in the 500 hours. Programs can be completed in as little as four months, and there is no final exam — completion of the course is the credential.

NPTI assists graduates with finding work in the fitness and health field. Job placement assistance includes a guest speaker series, a broad list of hiring contacts, and training on resume and cover letter writing as well as job interviewing skills. A large and growing network of NPTI graduates working in the industry hires recent grads. NPTI notes it cannot promise or guarantee employment to anyone.
