Question 1

I'm a beginner. Which classes should I take?

Accepted Answer

Start with Hatha, Anusara, Therapeutic Yoga, Restorative, or Yin. We recommend at least 3 Hatha or Beginners classes before trying Vinyasa Flow, which is best if you want to build strength and sweat.

Question 2

How much are classes?

Accepted Answer

There's a range of options from single classes to memberships — single classes are $35, packages start at $149, and memberships range from $115 to $165 per month.

Question 3

What should I wear to class?

Accepted Answer

Wear comfortable clothing you can move in, such as sweatpants, yoga pants or shorts with a t-shirt or workout top. Yoga is done with bare feet; there's a place to leave your shoes and you can wear socks onto the yoga floor until class starts.

Question 4

I'm overweight, inflexible, and/or worried I'm too old for this. Can I still take classes?

Accepted Answer

Yes — you're in the right place. Start with Hatha, Anusara, Therapeutic Yoga, Restorative, or Yin Yoga, or work 1-1 with an instructor if you're nervous about a public class.

Question 5

Can class packages be shared?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the 5 and 10 class packages can be shared with friends and family. Email the studio to set up pass sharing.

Question 6

How should I contact the studio?

Accepted Answer

Ahimsa prefers questions via email or phone so desk staff and teachers can focus on checking students in for class. A contact form is available on the website.
