Question 1

How do you determine the cost for my housecleaning?

Accepted Answer

We consider your home's square footage, number of bathrooms, condition, and the level of cleaning detail required, then estimate the number of worker hours needed. With a phone or internet estimate you either authorize more time if the job runs long or accept the cleaning accomplished in the estimated time; in-home estimates may allow some flexibility at no extra cost.

Question 2

How do I pay?

Accepted Answer

We accept major credit cards, checks and cash. Payment is expected at each visit until credit is established; established clients with a signed Memorandum of Understanding are billed on the first business day of the month for the previous month, due within 15 days. A $25 late charge applies after 22 days, and a $25 fee applies for returned checks.

Question 3

What if I'm not satisfied with a cleaning visit?

Accepted Answer

Call our Fallbrook office without delay. Together we'll decide whether re-cleaning the area in question or a charge adjustment/credit is the best resolution, backed by HomeLife's guarantee of quality assurance.

Question 4

How do you access my home?

Accepted Answer

If you won't be home you may provide us with a key (preferred) or hide a key; leaving a door unlocked is not recommended and is at your own risk. Keys given to a housekeeper must be reported to the office so they can be recorded and security-coded. Re-keying reimbursement is limited to $50, and HomeLife is not liable for keys given to housekeepers without its knowledge.

Question 5

May I choose to provide my own equipment and supplies?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you may provide your own equipment and/or supplies. However, HomeLife is not liable for any resulting damage to your equipment or from the use of your supplies.

Question 6

Should I tip?

Accepted Answer

You receive the same outstanding service whether or not you tip, but occasional or regular tipping is much appreciated and lets housekeepers know their hard work is valued. Many clients choose to tip, especially around the year-end holidays.

Question 7

What is your lockout and cancellation/reschedule policy?

Accepted Answer

If a housekeeper is locked out of a scheduled visit, the job is subject to our standard two-hour minimum charge unless a replacement job is found. Cancellations or reschedules with less than 72-hour notice are subject to the same minimum charge unless a replacement job is found.
